Operational Accounting Manager
Location: Franklin Park, IL (Hybrid with Travel)
As the Operational Accounting Manager, you’ll partner closely with the operations team where you’ll influence strategic decisions, optimize cost structures, and ensure robust internal controls. With a mix of leadership and technical accounting responsibilities, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial insights and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the management team to provide financial insights and recommend cost-optimization strategies.
- Lead the CAPEX request process, including financial analysis, ROI assessments, and post-mortem reviews.
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, including gross margin analysis, scrap analysis, and variance analysis.
- Maintain ERP costing systems, conduct monthly cost runs, and update overhead rates annually.
- Manage year-end audit requests, prepare the annual budget, and develop overhead rates by product line.
- Prepare account reconciliations and analyses at month-end.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong background in cost accounting, job costing, and plant accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel 3 consecutive days per month to one of the company’s three U.S. plants.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $110,000–$120,000
- Up to 10% annual bonus
